AgriBid is Zambia's premier online livestock auction and sales
platform. We connect farmers, breeders, and buyers across the
country, enabling them to buy and sell cattle, goats, sheep, pigs,
poultry, and other farm animals through live auctions or direct "Buy
Now" listings — all from the convenience of their phone or computer.
Click the "My Account" button and choose "Register." Fill in your
name, email, phone number, and create a password. Once registered,
you can immediately start browsing and bidding on listings. If you'd
like to sell, apply for seller status through your dashboard — our
admin team will review and approve your account promptly.
AgriBid supports a wide variety of livestock including cattle
(Boran, Brahman, Bonsmara, Tuli, and more), goats, sheep, pigs, and
poultry. Each listing includes detailed information about the breed,
age, weight, sex, and health records so you can make informed
decisions.
Auction: Sellers set a starting price and a
duration. Buyers place competitive bids, and the highest bidder at
the end of the auction wins. This is ideal for animals where
competitive pricing can drive the best value.
Buy Now (Direct Sale): The seller sets a fixed
price, and any buyer can purchase the animal immediately without
waiting for bidding to close. This is perfect when you want a quick,
straightforward transaction.
Browsing and bidding on AgriBid is completely free. Sellers can list
their animals at no upfront cost. A small commission is only charged
upon a successful sale, making it risk-free for sellers to get
started.
Each listing displays the seller's profile with their contact
details. Once you've won an auction or purchased via Buy Now, the
seller's full contact information is shared so you can arrange
payment and delivery directly.
Navigate to any active auction listing and click the "Place Bid"
button. Enter your bid amount — it must be equal to or greater than
the current price plus the minimum bid increment set by the seller.
Once submitted, your bid is final and cannot be retracted.
When the auction timer ends, the highest bidder wins. You'll receive
a notification with the seller's contact details. You then
coordinate payment and collection/delivery directly with the seller.
It's your responsibility to complete the transaction promptly.
No. All bids on AgriBid are binding commitments. Once you place a
bid, you agree to purchase the animal at that price if you are the
highest bidder when the auction closes. Please bid responsibly and
only on animals you intend to buy.
A bid increment is the minimum amount by which you must increase the
current bid. For example, if the current bid is K5,000 and the
increment is K500, your minimum bid must be K5,500. This ensures
fair, meaningful competition between bidders.
Delivery is arranged directly between the buyer and seller after a
successful purchase. AgriBid does not currently provide transport
services. Each listing shows the seller's location, so you can
factor in transport logistics and costs before bidding.
You can browse all listings without an account. However, you must
register and log in to place bids, make purchases, or contact
sellers. Registration is quick and free.
After creating an account, navigate to your Dashboard and apply for
seller status. Provide your farm details and contact information.
Our admin team reviews all applications and will approve your
account, usually within 24-48 hours. Once approved, you can start
creating listings immediately.
From your Seller Dashboard, click "Create Listing." Select the
animal species and breed, add clear photos, provide a detailed
description (age, weight, health records), and set either a starting
bid price with increment (for auctions) or a fixed price (for Buy
Now). Finally, set the auction duration and publish your listing.
If your auction expires without any bids, it is automatically
converted into a "Buy Now" direct sale listing at either the reserve
price (if you set one) or the starting price. This ensures your
animal stays visible to potential buyers without you needing to
relist it.
Payment is arranged directly between you and the buyer. Once the
auction ends or a Buy Now purchase is made, you'll receive the
buyer's contact details. You can agree on payment methods (mobile
money, bank transfer, or cash) and arrange collection or delivery.
AgriBid facilitates the connection but does not process payments on
behalf of sellers at this time.
You can edit the description and images of a listing at any time.
However, once an auction has received bids, you cannot change the
starting price, bid increment, or cancel the auction. For Buy Now
listings, you may update the price or remove the listing at any time
if it hasn't been purchased.
Great listings include clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles,
a detailed description covering breed, age, weight, sex, and
health/vaccination history. Listings with complete information
receive significantly more bids and sell faster. Be honest and
accurate — trust is your greatest asset on AgriBid.
